  • EPC contract for Lot 1 signed.

  • Site mobilisation. Access road to the site improved, village road widened and levelled, temporary camp and site office established.

  • Diversion channel, cofferdams and powerhouse excavation. Aggregate crushing and concrete batching plants commissioned. Permanent camp construction begins.

  • River closure of the main channel achieved; the Malagarasi now flows through the diversion channel.

  • Upstream cofferdam clay core closed (14 Aug); first blast for the dam foundation (18 Aug); dewatering of the dam pit begins (21 Aug); headrace culvert concreting continues with night pours.

  • Upstream cofferdam raised above EL 834 m and the dam pit kept dry by three pumps. Foundation excavation for dam blocks 7–9 under way and the cut-off trench being cleaned. Culvert bedding concrete cast bay by bay, with formwork now at chainage 0+930–0+970 and backfill concrete being placed at the downstream transition into the surge tank. Powerhouse sump-pit floor reinforcement accepted and the unit 2–3 foundation slab being reinforced; aggregate and batching plants running to feed the pours.

  • First structural concrete of the powerhouse placed in the sump pit (EL 785.4–786.9 m).
